- What’s your favorite memory from working with VIZX International that perfectly captures the company’s unique spirit or culture?
I have several of them, but there’s one that is so clear. Growth. I remember when I joined the company without any idea of recruitment and RPO business in general. Three years down the line, I feel like the founder of RPO business (lol). I have grown from a novice recruiter to a junior manager in less than 3 years. The company has grown as well compared to when I joined. I used to know everyone in the company with all their businesses, but now, I have to keep asking the new employees to remind me of their names. That is how much I and the company have grown!
- What’s the best part of your daily routine at work?
The best part is when I accomplish my daily tasks and see the results of my hard work. This comes in the form of getting submissions, offers, starts, and assignments. It motivates me to go even harder the next day and accomplish more goals.
- If you were giving a tour of the office, what would be the must-see spot?
I would have said the kitchen but haters… (laughs)! Let me go with the window areas on the 25th floor. It has a beautiful view of the city in the sun!
- Share advice for someone considering a job at VIZX International.
For anyone considering joining VIZX, first, you have good taste. My advice for them is to give their best in quality and output. We don’t tolerate the bare minimum, but good work is recognized and rewarded as, for someone interested in the RPO industry, welcome to Africa’s 21st century business. Be ready to explore and conquer new challenges of service to people who are miles and miles away.
My journey and relationship with the company began in January 2021 as a Recruitment Intern. It’s actually hard to believe it’s been over 2 and a half years already! My initial experience was of a lot of learning; having not worked in the RPO and BPO industry before, you can imagine everything was completely new to me, however, the company made the journey very seamless with lots of support, training, and patience.
I was promoted to the management team in April 2022, which presented a new dynamic. As is in any leadership position, my journey in management has come with new challenges, increased responsibility, and expectations, cultivation of new skills, and growth as a person, colleague, and worker. I am blessed with a fantastic team. They have simplified the whole experience and made it worthwhile.
A typical day at VIZX involves planning and deciding on client orders to service, communication, outreach, and interaction with our clients and candidates. It requires proper organization to ensure deadlines are met and flexibility, as you may get a curveball or two.
- What does a typical day look like for you in the world of recruitment?
Hello there, my name is Elizabeth, and I’m happy to be part of the VIZX family. My typical day as a recruiter involves a lot of multitasking, such as posting jobs, sourcing candidates, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and collaborating with hiring managers to match the right talent with job opportunities.
With this, recruitment sounds like a dynamic and engaging job involving various tasks. However, effective planning and organization will help you manage the diverse recruitment responsibilities. For instance, you may start your day by writing down your daily to-do list; this will help you work and cover all the tasks that you have on your desk and make your day less hectic and overwhelming.
2. Can you share one value that describes VIZX International?
Teamwork: One value that has helped me grow in my recruitment journey at VIZX is teamwork. The spirit of holding each other’s hands for collective growth is a powerful aspect of a team’s development.
At VIZX International Staffing Solutions, team members support each other, share knowledge, and celebrate successes, which has helped create a positive and motivating work culture and environment.
- What’s the most exciting part of your job as a recruiter?
Well, the most exciting part of my job as a recruiter is getting the opportunity to connect talented individuals with their dream jobs and witnessing the positive impact it has on their careers.
Building relationships, helping people advance in their professional journeys, and contributing to the success of both candidates and clients make the job rewarding and dynamic.
- Do you have any favorite team activities or outings you’ve enjoyed as part of the company culture?
The yearly Bowling Tournaments are my favorite part of unwinding. They create a relaxed environment where team members get to interact and unwind.
Additionally, the competitions in the tournaments against each other are thrilling. As a company, by the end of each bowling session, we feel closer, the bonds of friendship are strengthened, and the work tension is eased.
I joined VIZX on October 1st, 2018, and this year will mark my fifth anniversary with the company. Grateful for all the experiences so far and looking forward to what’s ahead!
One thing that is outstanding for me at VIZX is the management team which is very approachable. We have an easy work culture which of course, doesn’t mean the absence of challenges or hard work. It emphasizes a balanced approach that involves open communication, minimal Bureaucracy, low stress level, and personal development opportunities.
Working in the recruitment business involves facilitating the process of matching qualified job seekers with suitable job opportunities offered by employers. This is one career path I had never thought I would venture in back then, but ask me now and the answer is a big YES! Working in VIZX has presented me with growth both in my professional, financial, and social life. I have grown in how I approach the corporate world and work etiquette in general, became a leader, made money, and on top of that found a family in a workplace that I’m so proud of working with and growing the vision together.
Among the many reasons that I enjoy coming to work every single day is the amazing team at VIZX that I get to work with. Everyone is so respectful and really fun to work with. Management shows genuine care for our well-being and offers support during both professional and personal challenges, which creates a positive and productive work environment. I’m also amazed by the resilience that the team members have despite the setbacks and challenges that our industry bears and this has translated to tremendous growth individually and also the company as a whole.
Who is Denzel?
Denzel is a Senior Recruiter at VIZX International, this is currently my 2nd year and recruitment hasbecome my passion. I look forward to finding the right job for every candidate I interact with.
What’s a funny or heartwarming moment you’ve experienced while recruiting?
A particularly touching instance occurred when we spoke on the phone with a candidate who wanted more information about a job that we had posted. Over the phone, the candidate’s parrot kept imitating everything they said. It was charming and funny at the same time, giving our talk a certain edge. This demonstrated the candidate’s ability to respond to unforeseen circumstances with humor and grace.
What’s a common misconception about recruiters that you’d like to debunk?
A common misconception about recruiters is that we hold all the power in the hiring process. While we play a salient role during the hiring process. It is pivotal to acknowledge that the hiring process is a collaborative effort between recruiters, hiring managers and the candidates. As a recruiter we majorly smoothen the hiring process by offering counsel but final decisions are made collectively.
