1. USING A TASK LIST AND KEEPING A CALENDAR
One of the most important habits I use to run my recruitment day is using a task list and keeping a calendar. As a recruiter, the organization is critical; in your workday, you will have meetings, phone calls, follow-ups, emails, etc… As well as other daily tasks, keeping a task list and calendar ensures I always stay on top of things and helps prioritize. As I complete each task on my list, I check it off. This gives me a sense of motivation as I work to complete each task, and at the end of the day, when I look back and see I have checked off everything on my list, I get a sense of accomplishment.
2) REVIEW OF REQUISITIONS/ JOB ORDERS
As a recruiter, I must have a clear idea and an understanding of the needs of my clients each day. In the ever-changing world of healthcare recruitment, client needs and requirements keep evolving. To ensure I am always on top of things, I go through what clients have posted, their openings, and their needs, guiding me on where to focus my efforts. It also ensures I match the candidates to the most suitable job orders.
3. REVIEW OF APPLICATIONS AND DOING OUTREACHES IN RECRUITMENT
As a recruiter, I always have job ads posted on job boards and social media; an important habit I cultivated to help me run my day is constantly reviewing applications, screening the applicants, and reaching out to those that match the requirements I am looking for. I have learned that it is essential to contact an applicant in the shortest time possible after they make their application. Also ensure that communication is personalized. This significantly increases the odds of having a successful placement.
After reviewing applications, I do not stop there; I conduct outreach and proactively look for the best talent for the positions I am trying to fill. It’s also important to note that constantly reviewing your outreach methods helps you perfect your outreach skills and keep things fresh to excite prospects about the job you are sharing.
